Furlough weekend craft tally

So far:

Knitted two scarves, covered two little tins, sewed two makeup bags, covered four mousepads and made three headbands.

Goal: finish no less than SIX makeup bags before my long weekend ends. They're already cut out and pinned, but that's still a whole lotta makeup bags. I am mowing through my fat quarter/scrap fabric stash like nobody's biz-ness, though, so that's cool. After that, I've got about five quilts pinned and ready to sew, and enough fabric to make about five more on top of that. Anybody who hasn't already received a lap quilt for birthday/Christmas/new baby/etc. is going to get one in 2010. And a makeup bag! :D

Porcupine Nose

I'm a Sucker for Pink

You know you love bad photography of cute things!

These were hastily taken, I admit, but cute none the less. Each frame is wood and hand painted by me, with watercolors. Each painting is done by me too. The red, purple, and peach-ish ones are part of a quartet (there is one more previously made painting), for my mom for her birthday, which is coming up soon. I told her about the therapeutic value of paintings like these. If they make you smile, hooray endorphins!

Good sick in bed activity

Today was the first day in almost a week that I felt good enough to do something other than lay on the couch and cough and try (unsuccessfully) to breathe through my nose....what was the demanding task I selected? Lay on the couch and cough and organize and purge all the craft websites I have bookmarked on my computer. I didn't finish (hey, I'm an invalid!) but I deleted quite a few and organized more. I realized I had saved so many sites there were too many to actually do anything with, AND there was no way I was going to ever actually make all those handbags/fabric flowers/makeup bags/stuffed toys I'd bookmarked anyway. The goal is to only bookmark stuff I think I might make in the next 12 months.....like this little cat pin!
