Bunny Bunns!!

She has a dear, little squirrel as well.....so sweet.

I want a tree this year.

This is Girl Kitty's last Christmas and I want her to have a tree. Just so we can lie under it together and smell the needles. She loves that.

DECEMBER 7TH BREAKING NEWS! TREE BOUGHT! APT. SMELLING GREAT! LITTLE DRINKING WATER OUT OF TREE STAND! GIRL SLUMBERING BENEATH!

Since it rains and snows here quite a bit.....

a kitten obvsly needs a HUGE rainy day fund, right? Well, mine is less than huge....so about two and a half weeks ago I started trying this tip I read about in-surprise-Real Simple magazine. This guy started saving every $5 bill he received in change, from the ATM, etc. Apparently he saved enough to take his entire family to the Bahamas or something crazy like that.

So far I've got $190 saved just by putting aside my $5 bills....not bad. Maybe the kitties and I will be sipping exotic drinks out of coconuts before the year is out. Try it!

What a great deal! Two subscriptions for the price of one. I got something for my hard-to-buy-for Mom, and something for me, too.

"These are a few of my favorite thiiiiiings"

Oooooo, I like these! And these! And look at this dress! And look, a bunny!

So many presents to make, so little time!

Floatytoes, if you and Mr. Floatytoes ever decide to have little ones, I will make them this

No pressure. :D

In the meantime, check out the holiday cuteness here!

Okay, I'll try and keep this post from looking as wonky....clearly I have much to learn from floatytoes about proper posting....or maybe it's my slightly fevered state? Anyway, more holiday CUTENESS! I'm really intimidated by these cookie molds...maybe if floatytoes helped we could make some nice vegan cookies with this mold?

Holly, Jolly Christmas!

We need music!

And cookies!

Decorations!

Foxes!

These are unbelievably charming! Tiny works of art!

Just adorable!

My light switches are those big, square, ugly ones....so these won't fit. But I love them!

Mongo in the Winter Sun

Cute Cards!

I love real mail, I love letters and cards and postcards and anything sent the old fashioned way (I am even a card carrying member of the Letter Writers Alliance!). Plus I give one to my honey bunnie every month on our anniversary <3
I have purchased cards from four different etsy sellers so far and I loved all of them. This is a new one I just found, and it will be mine soon!
p.s. here is the link to the Letter Writers Alliance site: http://16sparrows.typepad.com/letterwritersalliance/

Bunny people do it, too!

Isn't it adorable? I can just picture someone saving up for a special bunny bridge for their bunnies. Then comes the organic bunny food....more bunny toys.....bunny blankets and treats. Beware, bunny people! Take it from the kitty owners, pretty soon your bunnies will be running your life!

Meowy Xmas!

I appreciate and participate in all things Christmas-y from a purely non-religious perspective....I like giving gifts, baking and decorating, and Christmas provides me with an opportunity to do all three. Each year I do cut back a little, and one thing I don't do is purchase gift wrap anymore.

But then I saw this...I may have to rethink the whole "it's bad for the environment thing!

I'm Already Thinking About It!!

That's right, Christmas! I saw a super cute vintage elf on etsy and that sent me on a fun search adventure for vintage Christmas items. Some are strange and creepy, but this is right up KittenMeowMeow's alley!!

Mongo Belly Makes Everything All Better

If this isn't cuteness, I don't know what is!
No matter how bad my day has been, I still come home to this every day
<3

Pretty Much the Epitome of Cuteness

When I saw this, I was doubled over in laughter from hilarious cuteness. This wee one only exists to be cute.

Tribute to floatytoes

Floatytoes made the most amazing cupcakes (vegetarian!) and she gave me one today! Wow! If I were a true blogger, I would have taken a picture of it before consuming, but no, I sat right down in front of her at 9am and gobbled it up.

I was especially honored as not everyone gets a floatytoes vegetarian cupcake. Oh noes.

This same week I also received an AMAZING pair of floatytoes earrings---an original and new design not for sale in any shop. I am feeling so extra-special this week, thank you floaty toes!!

Unfortunately, this same week I have learned that floaty will remain in her faraway cubicle (I have to walk from one side of the building to another! gadzooks!).
Heeelllloooo floatytoes! You can't see me in my purple oasis but maybe if I yell really loudly you can here me. And here's a picture of a cupcake covered with tiny flowers as a tribute to you!

Cute new blog

It's by two sisters from Los Angeles, a nice blend of art/craft/design/vintage/baking.....well, let's just call it eclectic!

One of the things I like about craft blogs is the absence of things like sarcasm, cynicism, snark....I don't like the negativity or ranting found in other sorts of blogs, or the rampant crazy you find in most on-line subcultures. In craft blogs, homemakers mix happily with career girls, and it doesn't matter if you're hip or just love knitting granny squares, everyone seems to just get along.

I like that. :)

lily's nose

I brought my camera to my lesson today, but the photos did not come out well--glare from the sun, dusty paddock, and to say they were unflattering is to put it MILDY. By the time you have a helmet flattening your hair, your butt and that extra 20 pounds you keep trying to lose are squeezed into riding breeches, plus the two-three layers of jackets so you appear to be about six months pregnant, too-short reins so your arms are extended and your posture resembles that of a fat hunchbank.....National Velvet I wasn't. But this one of Lily's nose came out really cute!!

Ghost tours!!!

Went on the pike place market ghost tour with my cousin, her boyfriend and best friend. Those kids are fun and so was the tour. I'd never been at the market when it was well and truly closed down for the night. Here's a picture of our tour guide standing in front of what was once a mortuary about two centuries ago, and is now considered to be the most haunted place in Seattle. His lovely Italian wife tagged along on the tour. She is expecting and the two of them were just so adorable!

Trick or Treat for dogs

Yesterday at the Humane Society, my last task was to pass out dog treats to each and every dog....an awesome way to end a shift. I also got to train a new volunteer on the feeding routine, and help staff person Kristi socialize a dog with leash/new dog anxiety. By the end of the session the dog was playing happily with another dog. :) Pictured is Liza on the lush, green trail the dogs go for walks.

Halloween Cupcakes

These came out way cuter than I thought they would.....

Cat Food Cuteness (it can be there too!)

I seem to be on a never ending search for quality cat food, cringing at ingredients (taurine????), and saddened by a seemingly lack of interest in appealing to the consumer (that's us, the cat food BUYERS).
So, although my cats might stick their noses up to yet another quality brand, I am delighted with my new finding of TIKI CAT food. Immediately enamored by the packaging, and just as in love with the ingredients and comments. I think I might just get some...... <3

Adorable Earmuffs, Anyone?

I was thinking about how COLD I am and hard it is to look cute while trying to stay toasty, and then I found THESE!!!
I was even happier to see they aren't a fluke, the whole shop is major cuteness.
Major plus for kick ass models.

This is the perfect little basket for your desk......and a great way to use up a fat quarter. The pattern Sometimes Crafter uses makes this look so easy! I really want to give this a try, once I get caught up on my mini-quilts.

When the crafting bug first hit last year, I bought a ton of fat quarters and even making a dozen of those coffee cup cozy things, I still have soooo many of them left. I sometimes despair of ever using them all! Unlike the majority of other crafters, I don't want a large fabric stash, so while I still find myself drawn to the fat quarters on Etsy...I resist!

Now, yarn is the new fat quarter. :D

I am nothing if not ambitious

Found the perfect pattern for my entry in the harvest festival for combined charities......considering I have never attempted anything harder than a crude cat face on a pumpkin, this is really going to be stretch.....but classic cars! My fave tv show! What could be cooler?
